2. Hold the party in a small enough area to be cozy...bathe first.
3. Serve hot appetizers. That means cooking. Ask for help.
4. Display fresh flowers, and perhaps put some in the bathroom too.
5. Light a few candles and any fireplaces. Dim or turn-off overhead lights.
6. Play music, no TVs (unless it's a Superbowl party)... play it loud, everyone understands.
7. Send invitations. Hand-made ones are very cool, and personalizing them
with names,
referrals to recent local events, snapshots of you, jokes, death threats
etc. is noticed.
8. If a guest brings wine or food, show appreciation by serving it.
9. Stash your valuables and fragile items in a safe place. Now remember that place.
10. Notify the neighbors of your blow-out bash, or invite them..or invite
your friends in law
enforcement.
11. Rent a champagne fountain for about $25 and use it for spiked punch.
12. Enlarge a funny photo at a photo shop for prominent display.
13. With Rita's rental machines, you will be using 1 to 3 liters of alcohol
depending on preferred strength. Most of the machines will
hold in the range of 4 gallons, which fills about 75 different 7 oz cups.
(Or the same 7 oz cup 75 times if nobody shows.) A
good rule of thumb is one batch of mix per forty guests, with an extra
batch in waiting.
